The Sons and Brothers are very pleased to announce they are bringing another exciting concert to Swallow Hill Music Association on February 29 th , 2008! Featured along with Sons and Brothers will be another of Colorado 's hottest young acts, The Ackermans! A common thread of all the shows Sons and Brothers have brought to Swallow Hill is the unpredictable nature of the entertainment. Translation: most of the time the band will find out exactly what is going to happen about the same time the audience does. This leads to creativity, spontaneity, and way more fun than should be allowed. This night will be no different!

1946 saw the birth of bluegrass, a new musical genre that generated as much excitement as the creation of rock `n` roll would just a few years later. Today, The Ackermans carry that same musical thrill forward into a new century. At a time when most top bluegrass bands are smooth, tight and virtuosic, The Ackermans retain some of the rugged, roughhewn dynamism, and emotional impact of traditional bluegrass to new audiences. Featuring lightening fast fiddle tunes, heart-wrenching ballads, and many other forms traditional acoustic music, The Ackermans are an act not to be missed!

And as expected, Sons and Brothers will come loaded with their signature sounds of western, gospel, and bluegrass music that has brought them notoriety across the country. Just when you thought Joe's mandolin feature-pieces, Mike's girl-killing heartache and heartbreak numbers, Frank's dynamic arrangements, and Aaron's mostly-true stories couldn't be any more entertaining…enter the swinging, rocking tunes led by newest band member Fred. These five dynamos guarantee you a night of unique and exciting music as crisp and fresh as the winds blowing off the Rocky Mountains .

These two bands have been performing together for many years. However, both groups' intense playing schedules have prevented them from doing a concert together for a long time. So, we are again very excited to have Sons and Brother and The Ackermans join forces on February 29 th at Swallow Hill. While it can never be completely lined out before hand, the two bands plan on each playing sets on their own and then joining forces at the end for another memorable show at Swallow Hill. February 29 th only comes once every four years: this show is about the same. Don't miss it.
