New West
Two years ago the audiences of Wet Mountain Western Days were awed by the incredible songwriting, instrumental pyrotechnics and outstanding stage performance that made up a New West show. We were honored to have them as our headliner that year and the next. Shortly after the 2005 festival, we were greatly saddened to learn that New West would no longer be touring together; their days as an active band were almost over. The boys had one more farewell concert scheduled and then that was it. Well...almost. The guys had so much fun at their last concert they decided to do it more often. When we got that news, we hurried to the phone to be the first to book New West on their First Annual Farewell Tour 2007!!! We are so thrilled to welcom back the incredible songwriting of Michael Fleming, the virtuoso instrumental work of Raul Reynoso and the veteran showmanship of entertainer extraordinaire David Jackson to WMWD 2007. Don't miss New West!!!

Dave Stamey
Dave Stamey has been bucked off and stomped by many horses, stepped on by mules and dragged around branding pens by angry cattle of various sizes. He's ridden in the rain, in the snow, in the rain some more, in pretty nasty heat, and in feedlot pens where the air was thick and decidedly fragrant. He's even wrangled dudes. He's an entertainer now. He finds he prefers this. He's been awarded the Male Performer of the Year by the Western Music Association, is a three time nominee for Songwriter of the Year, and is rapidly becoming one of the most popular Western entertainers working today. Dave performed in the Wet Mountain Valley for the first time in August of 2005 at the first of the renowned Hillside Concerts. After that concert, the board for WMWD was flooded with requests to bring Dave to Western Days. We are honored to be able to get that to happen this year. Help us welcome Dave Stamey back to Westcliffe!!!

Bill Barwick and the Sons of the Tumbleweed

Winner of the 2005 Will Rogers Cowboy Award for Western Music "Male Vocalist of the Year" from the Academy of Western Artists , listening to Bill Barwick weave his tales can transport you right back down the trail. You can almost hear the leather of his saddle creak. Hailed as a cowboy's cowboy-song singer and accompanied by superb guitar work, Bill's singing, songwriting and storytelling are a performance not to be missed! Not surprisingly, he's one of modern media's most recognized voices. He can be heard (and occasionally even seen) worldwide via satellite and cable TV, on Starz/Encore's Westerns Channel . As an industrial narrator, he has a corporate client list that reads like a "Who's Who" of American business. Then, there are all those local television and radio commercials he's done. No matter where you're from, you've heard Bill Barwick. Along with the awesome fiddle work of Johnny Neil and the driving bass of Steve “Mac” McCartney, Bill Barwick and the Sons of the Tumbleweed present a fresh version of western music that should not be missed!!! Be there!

Sons and Brothers
Sons and Brothers are again honored to be the host band for WMWD 2006. According to the August, 2005, CD reviews in the Power Pickin Magazine,” Sons and Brothers is the most exciting acoustic band in Colorado . They enthrall an audience- to the extent that after a particularly powerful song, you may hear a collective gasp as listeners, stunned by the originality and emotion of the music, suddenly remember to breath.” Colorado 's own Sons and Brothers will be bringing “WestGrass” to the concert and festival scene in 2006. “WestGrass” is the term the band uses to describe its presentation of acoustic music that combines elements of Western, Gospel, Bluegrass , and Old Time fiddle music. The band has traveled and brought “WestGrass” to concerts and festivals in numerous states over the past 6 years and in 2004, they took “WestGrass” to Scotland , England and Wales with great success. According to Dave Higgs, columnist for Bluegrass Now Magazine, “It's not only Sons and Brothers powerful paint pealing vocals that make them one of the most strikingly original bands in bluegrass, but it's their sound-an arresting brand of bluegrass flavored by the wide open spaces, grandeur, and panoramic majesty of the West.”

A multiple award winning artist, Jean's latest CD, An Inspirational Tapestry Of The West , was selected at the Western Album of the Year by the prestigious Academy of Western Artists . Whoever has spent any amount of time in or around the Wet Mountain Valley is sure to know what style of musical ambrosia awaits anyone who attends a performance by the acclaimed duo Sugarfoot. Local heroes Jerry and Sandy Brown are sure to deliver anytime they pick up their instruments.
